The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking an Hourly/PRN Staff Nurse to support our Bettendorf Clinics. This position will primary support outreach clinics but could also float to support other specialties based on clinical needs/hours.

Our staff nursesdevelop relationships and get to know our patients and monitor patient care history and deliver personalized, compassionate care every time to each patient.

Duties to include:



  • Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness.
  • Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations.
  • Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings.
  • Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response.
  • Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan.
  • Develops, coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care.
  • Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Follows universal precautions.
  • Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards

Percent of Time:25% (10 - 20 hours per week)

Schedule:Monday - Friday, work hours completed from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM no on-call time.

Pay Grade: 52https://hr.uiowa.edu/pay/guide-pay-plans/seiu-hourly-pay-plan

Salary: $26.10 up to $50.00


Qualifications
Education



  • An Associate's Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN), Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.


Required Qualifications



  • Current license to practice in the state of Iowa by the time of hire.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
  • General computer skills are required.
  • Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.


Highly Desired Qualifications



  • Previous endocrine patient population experience.
  • Continuous glucose monitoring / CGM experience.
  • Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.


Desired Qualifications



  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing isdesired.
    If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained,active enrollmentin a BSN program is desirable.


    • If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained,active enrollmentin a BSN program is desirable.


  • 1 year minimumtriage experience (within the past 3 years)
  • Current experience in self-directed, independent roles (autonomous work ability).
