What You'll Do


  • Direct and oversee technical services and project delivery across the region, ensuring quality, consistency, and client satisfaction



  • Partner with the Regional Business Development Director to align project pursuits, staffing, and execution strategies



  • Assign, support, and develop Project Managers-driving performance, accountability, and successful project outcomes



  • Ensure effective project staffing and deployment of technical expertise across all regional work



  • Support regional financial performance, including P&L oversight, resource planning, and operational efficiency



  • Serve as a key liaison between clients and KLJ, ensuring our professional standard of care is delivered every time



  • Lead recruitment, development, and retention of technical staff-building strong, capable teams



  • Monitor team performance, utilization, and business metrics; provide coaching and mentorship to elevate results



  • Collaborate across practices and regions to align resources and maximize opportunities



  • Represent KLJ in industry events, conferences, and community engagements




What You Bring


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, natural resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience)



  • 10+ years of experience leading and delivering projects within a technical or engineering environment



  • 5+ years of operational leadership experience, including managing performance tied to P&L outcomes



  • Professional Engineer (PE) or related licensure preferred



  • Strong business acumen-understanding market conditions, revenue drivers, client dynamics, and profitability



  • Established network within the industry and region, with a passion for building relationships and attracting top talent



  • Proven ability to lead teams, develop people, and drive accountability



  • Strategic mindset paired with a practical, get-it-done approach

What to Expect


  • Full-time role (40 hours/week)



  • Approximately 70% office / 30% in the field or with clients



  • Occasional to frequent travel depending on regional and project needs




Physical Requirements


  • Combination of office and field activity, including walking on uneven terrain (up to 2 miles/day)



  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally



  • Regular movement including sitting, standing, and navigating active project environments

Factors that may be used to determine actual salary include education (or applicable experience), training, job location, competencies relevant to the role, and internal equity.
