Summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking an Application Analyst to join our ever-growing IT team.

The Application Analyst is responsible for the operational support, maintenance, and security management of enterprise applications managed by the Applications Team. This role ensures that applications remain stable, secure, and compliant with organizational policies through proactive monitoring, patch deployment, vulnerability remediation, and collaboration with internal IT teams.

The Application Analyst works closely with Security, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to maintain application reliability and respond to operational incidents and vulnerability alerts.

Essential Functions

Application Support and Operations



  • Provide operational support for enterprise applications managed by the Applications Team.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents affecting system functionality or availability.


Vulnerability Monitoring and Remediation



  • Monitor vulnerability intelligence sources and enterprise security tools to identify vulnerabilities affecting managed systems.
  • Investigate and remediate vulnerabilities according to defined remediation timelines.


Patch Deployment System Maintenance



  • Deploy operating system and third-party application patches using centralized management tools.
  • Test patches for compatibility, perform pilot deployments, and execute production rollouts according to maintenance schedules.


Incident and Ticket Management



  • Investigate incidents and vulnerability alerts reported through the IT service management platform.
  • Document remediation activities and maintain accurate tracking of issues and resolutions.


Change Management Coordination



  • Submit and implement change records related to patch deployments and system updates in accordance with change management procedures.


Compliance Verification and Reporting



  • Validate patch compliance and vulnerability remediation through system reporting tools and assist with operational reporting and security compliance efforts.


Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Minimum Requirements



  • 3-5 years of experience supporting enterprise applications or IT systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting application or operating system issues.
  • Familiarity with patch management and vulnerability remediation processes.
  • Experience working with ticketing or IT service management platforms.
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills.



Preferred Requirements



  • Experience with Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Experience with Patch My PC or similar enterprise patching platforms.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security practices and vulnerability management processes.

Working Conditions



  • Typical Physical Demands: Regularly use hands to manipulate tools, controls, phones and computer keyboard. Frequently stand, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, and stoop. Sit and stand to do clerical work. Regularly lift and move office supplies up to 50 lbs.
  • Typical Work Conditions: Work is performed in an office.
