Willdan is currently seeking a Senior Analyst for our Anaheim, CA office. This position follows a hybrid schedule, with four days onsite and one day remote each week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Co-lead the preparation and filing of the company's annual 10-K and quarterly 10-Q reports with the SEC.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, supporting disclosures, and related schedules.
- Assist with the preparation financial statements in XBRL format to meet the SEC's digital reporting requirements. Ensure accuracy and completeness of tagged data.
- Prepare the company's 8-K for material and significant corporate events. This includes ensuring that disclosures meet SEC guidelines for timeliness and accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of the company's DEF 14A proxy statements for annual shareholder meetings, ensuring that financial information, executive compensation, and corporate governance disclosures comply with SEC rules.
- Assist with the compliance of Section 16 of the Securities Exchange Act, assisting with the filing of insider trading reports (i.e., Forms 3, 4, and 5) for company executives and directors.
- Collaborate with senior management and the Investor Relations team to prepare earnings releases that are filed with the SEC and disclosed to the public.
- Assist in creation and review of presentations and detailed financial analyses presented to senior management and board of directors.
- Support the Investor Relations team with financial information, presentations, and materials needed for investor calls and meetings.
- Perform technical accounting research on complex transactions or new accounting pronouncements to ensure that SEC filings reflect accurate and up-to-date financial reporting standards. Interpret the impact of new FASB pronouncements and SEC regulations on the company's financial statements.
- Assist with the testing the operating effectiveness of the Company's internal controls over financial reporting.
- Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly and annual audits, ensuring that the necessary documentation and supporting schedules are provided. Address auditor queries regarding the SEC filings and resolve any identified issues.
- Assist with the day-to-day administration of the company's equity compensation plans, including stock options, restricted stock awards/units (RSAs/RSUs), performance shares (PBRSUs), and employee stock purchase plans (ESPP).
- Assist in processing new grants, exercises, vesting events, and terminations in the equity management system. Ensure accurate tracking of stock compensations expense.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor as business needs dictate.
Job Requirements
- BS/BA in Accounting or Equivalent, advanced degree a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting or auditing; experience with public company reporting or a public accounting firm, preferred.
- Good understanding of US GAAP; financial reporting requirements for publicly traded companies, preferred.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
