DIRECTOR, PROCUREMENT

The Director of Procurement is responsible for overseeing Six Side Supply's daily procurement operations, including establishing core processes and mentoring, managing, and building the procurement team to ensure efficiency, innovation, and effective project delivery. This role requires a driven, hands-on leader who will develop and implement operational procedures, standard work, and scalable systems while driving continuous improvement across the organization.

Six Side Supply operates within the McGough Family of Companies as a dedicated supply chain and procurement partner supporting construction projects. The company works closely with McGough Construction-currently its primary customer-to streamline procurement, strengthen vendor relationships, and improve cost, schedule, and quality performance across projects. This close alignment allows Six Side Supply to scale operations while delivering added value to McGough and external customers.

This individual will collaborate closely with Six Side and McGough leadership to scale the business, strengthen operational discipline, and continuously identify areas for growth, expanded scope, and added value. The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment where structure is being built and refined.

The primary role of the Director - Procurement, includes the following essential functions, in coordination with the VP and other members of the Six Side Supply Team:



  • Build, and lead the Six Side Supply procurement team
  • Oversee daily procurement and supply operations to support cost, schedule, and quality objectives
  • Help develop, implement, and continuously improve standard operating procedures and standard work
  • Refine and manage how Six Side Supply interfaces with McGough and external customers
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships in coordination with other team members
  • Partner cross-functionally with estimating, and project management
  • Identify, evaluate, and help scale additional scopes, services, and supply opportunities
  • Support business growth through operational discipline, scalability, and team development


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent practical experience
  • 5-10+ years of progressive experience in construction, procurement, sourcing and supply chain management
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
  • Proven ability to build, improve, and operate within structured operational processes
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems, inventory management software, and other construction and operational tools


Preferred Experience and Skills:



  • Proven expertise in subcontractor, vendor management, contract negotiations, and strategic sourcing
  • Experience in construction purchasing, estimating, or supply chain management within a project driven environment
  • Demonstrated experience in driving productive relationships with project partners, subcontractors and vendors
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organization and time management skills; thorough and detail-oriented
  • Familiarity with OSHA and workplace safety compliance.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and business growth.


CORE RESPONSIBLITIES:

Operations & Procurement Leadership



  • Lead and oversee Six Side Supply's daily procurement operations to support cost, schedule, quality, and service objectives
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procurement strategies, policies, procedures, and standard work
  • Establish and manage vendor sourcing strategies for materials, equipment, and services
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, value optimization, and risk mitigation across the supply chain
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, safety and quality standards, and applicable regulations
  • Assist in budget planning, cost control, and financial forecasting.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive accountability and performance


Strategy, Process & Continuous Improvement



  • Design, document, and continuously improve standard operating procedures that define how Six Side Supply operates and interfaces with McGough and external customers
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reliability, and customer experience
  • Collaborate with Six Side and McGough leadership to support business growth and operational scalability
  • Continuously assess and evaluate additional scopes, services, and supply opportunities
  • Assess operational readiness, staffing, systems, and risk associated with new offerings
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Lean principles and the McGough Way


People Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing procurement team
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and evaluate team members; establish clear roles, expectations, and performance metrics
  • Partner cross-functionally with estimating, project management, finance, and field teams to support effective project delivery
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, ethical behavior, and continuous improvement


Organizational Support



  • Support budget planning, cost control, and operational forecasting
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and partners
  • Participate in company meetings, training, and professional development activities


OFFICE AND TRAVEL:



  • Role is housed at Corporate or Regional office. Requires visiting prospective contract sites on regular basis.

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a workstation or during meetings and travelling (by plane or car). The employee must be able to lift to 20 pounds as needed, demonstrate dexterity to write and use a computer keyboard and mouse, and possess the ability to hear, speak clearly, and distinguish colors on graphs and charts.

The role also requires occasional visits to construction sites, where the employee may be exposed to dust, dirt, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme temperatures.
