Overview

Quartz is seeking a creative and highly skilled Internal Communications Manager to lead and execute enterprise-wide communication initiatives. This role plays a critical part in how we connect our people to what matters most, translating strategic priorities into clear, compelling messaging that drives alignment, builds trust, and strengthens organizational health.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, trusted advisor and teammate, and experienced in translating complex, fast-moving initiatives into clear, actionable messaging in a dynamic environment.

  • Starting salary is based upon skills and experience: $98,900 - $123,700 plus robust benefits package.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute internal communication strategies for enterprise-wide initiatives such as product launches, operational changes, technology implementations, and strategic priorities.
  • Partner with business and functional leaders to translate complex or technical information into clear, audience-appropriate messaging.
  • Support change communication strategies in partnership with the Sr. Director, Enterprise Learning, Inclusion, and Communications, including rollout planning and sequencing.
  • Ensure messaging is aligned, consistent, appropriately sequenced, and delivered across relevant channels and stakeholder groups.
  • Proactively identify communication risks, gaps, or opportunities and elevate insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Manage internal communications operations including distribution list governance, audience journey mapping, and communication sequencing.
  • Write and edit internal content across formats, including announcements, articles, FAQs, updates, leader toolkits, and job aids.
  • Produce internal-facing videos including scripting, recording, editing, captioning, and publishing.
  • Develop and maintain communication training materials and guidance to support leader effectiveness and enterprise messaging standards.
  • Ensure communications are on-brand and adhere to established governance practices, accessibility standards, and best practices.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute company-wide meetings including town halls and leadership sessions.
  • Oversee, in collaboration with cross-functional partners, an organization-wide engagement committee and support planning and execution of related events.
  • Support initiatives aligned to the organization's Vision, Mission, Values, Culture, DEI & Belonging, Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), Learning & Development, and employee well-being.
  • Contribute to activities that strengthen engagement, connection, and belonging across the enterprise.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Internal Communications and/or Public Relations.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated audience adaptation capability.
  • Experience supporting executive communications and enterprise-level change initiatives in a complex organization.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior leaders and manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Strong expertise in brand governance and enterprise messaging strategy.
  • Advanced emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of change management methodologies.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Digital literacy includes video production and editing proficiency.

This position may work remotely but will be required to report to our office in Madison, WI, when needed. Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
