Job Summary

The NGA Convenience Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations within a secure NGA facility. This includes store planning layout and fixtures, staff supervision, inventory management, compliance with NGA security protocols, and ensuring exceptional customer service for NGA personnel. The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage operations in a high-security environment.

Primary Duties

  • Direct daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and point-of-sale systems. Ensure compliance with NGA and AbilityOne Program requirements.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise three (3) PTE store workers. Prepare weekly schedules based on PTE planning factors.

  • Manage inventory control, ordering, and product display. Coordinate with NGA for fixtures and internet connectivity for POS systems.

  • Maintain high standards of service and professionalism for NGA personnel.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales, staffing, and operational performance. Ensure all staff meet NGA clearance requirements.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Interface with customers on a regular basis to solve issues that arise.

  • Assist in ensuring that all employees are trained in customer service.

  • Accurately complete records and reports in a timely manner as required by operations, rehabilitation, and human resources departments as well as the contractor.

  • Interface with contract personnel on all routine matters pertinent to contractual obligations.

  • Interface with customers on a regular basis to solve issues that arise.

  • Assist in implementing rehabilitation plans of assigned employees. Assist in writing employee counseling reports as needed. Coordinate with Rehabilitation Counselor to solve behavior/attendance issues.

  • Participate in the employee evaluation process and other meetings pertaining to employee goals and objectives. Provide input as needed.

  • Assist with the accountability of production standards and data collection.

  • Adhere to all fire and safety, bomb threat and security protocol regulations within assigned area.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of retail or convenience store management experience.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government HSPD-12 or Top Secret/SCI government security clearance with polygraph is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A well organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.

  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Ability to read and interpret Administration Manual and Corporate Policies.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Must be very organized and detail oriented.

  • Requires computer knowledge and experience leading to proficiency in software packages for spreadsheet operations.

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

  • Must be familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel and Access).

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet and, in some instances, hearing protection must be worn in high noise areas. While most of the positions work primarily indoors in an office environment, depending on position and/or assignment, incumbents may be required to work outdoors and occasionally be exposed to inclement or hazardous conditions requiring moderate to heavy physical activities.
