Engineering Internship - Summer 2026

Location: UFP Technologies | Newburyport, MA (On-site, with travel to the Dominican Republic)

Program Details
  • Start Date: Mid to late May 2026
  • End Date: Late August or early September 2026
  • Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday
  • Location: On-site in Newburyport, MA
  • Travel: Opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic
What You'll Do

As an Engineering Intern, you'll support the engineering team in design, testing, and product transition activities. Under the guidance of an experienced mentor, you will:

  • Partner with a mentor to apply your academic knowledge to real-world manufacturing processes
  • Participate in product and process design collaboration
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Support protocol development and technical report generation
  • Contribute to problem-solving efforts related to engineering and manufacturing challenges
  • Research materials and prepare technical information for assigned projects
  • Help monitor project progress through status updates and reporting
  • Gain exposure to active engineering projects and day-to-day operations
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, and productivity

What We're Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
  • Familiarity with CAD software is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel required)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally (Dominican Republic)
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus
