Overview

Graduate Princeton is seeking an energetic and service-driven Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a welcoming bar atmosphere, and providing attentive, knowledgeable service.



Responsibilities

    Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Provide attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable service to all guests, creating a welcoming bar experience
  • Take and process guest orders accurately using the POS system, handling cash and credit transactions
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, including bar top, service areas, and equipment
  • Ensure the bar is fully stocked with liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, and supplies throughout each shift
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service in compliance with all laws and company policies
  • Check guest identification to verify legal drinking age
  • Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Set up and break down the bar for service, including opening and closing duties
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Assist with inventory counts and notify management of low stock or supply needs


Qualifications

  • Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, bar, or hotel environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine
  • Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order-taking and cash handling
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and making change
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs for extended periods of time
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol in New Jersey
  • TIPS or similar alcohol service certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
