Job Summary:
Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital is seeking a full-time HepatobiliarySurgeon who will serve as Section Head. This position has oversight of all qualified Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgeons and program. Is responsible for planning, organizing, conducting, and directing all HPB activities and for meeting external agency requirements. Enforces the rules and regulations of the HPB service to provide safe and quality health care to patients in all phases of HPB treatment.
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for ensuring, in cooperation with the Department Chief, that advanced hepatic, biliary, and pancreatic operations are performed by surgeons who are appropriately trained and experienced.
  • This section leader is responsible for maintaining the highest quality and outcome results for HPB patients by leading the relevant Tumor Board, conducting operational and educational section meetings and completing ongoing professional practice evaluations for all members of the section.
  • This section leader is committed to lead the graduate and undergraduate medical education programs for HPB trainee and student rotations.
  • The section leader is responsible for ensuring adequate operative and inpatient coverage provided by qualified members in the HPB section
  • Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • HPB Certification via accredited fellowship pathway(preferred)
  • LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
  • LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
