About the Job

  • Serve on the IPGCE and contribute to Activity 2c to lead validation of a Medication Self-Efficacy Checklist with Virginia Commonwealth University GWEP. IPGCE meetings are monthly, with occasional additional meetings with the Minnesota Reciprocal Collaborative and community partners. IPGCE members are asked to report activities to and from their respective Schools/Departments/Professional groups. IPGCE are to be knowledgeable about GWEP Educational Resources including Toolkits, Tipsheets, the Age-Friendly Care and Education Collection, and content on our two websites: the main MN GWEP website and the Educational Resources website. Many IPGCE members also have membership in CHAI.
  • There are periodic requests for peer review of resources such as new Geriatric Educational Toolkits, and requests for writing sections of geriatric Cases for the annual Interprofessional
    Geriatric Case Competition. IPGCE members are asked to support the annual case competition by serving as a coach or judge, and also recruiting participants in the case competition from students and faculty colleagues.
  • Occasionally IPGCE are asked to attend local conferences about aging to staff an exhibition table to share MN GWEP educational resources. This also allows IPGCE members to represent MN GWEP and meet the extraordinary community members implementing Age Friendly Minnesota.
Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum required education: Doctoral degree
  • Minimum experience: working with and caring for geriatric patients

Preferred qualifications:

  • Expertise in geriatrics and aging to include healthcare policy, Medicare, geriatric syndromes including frailty, medication management review, multi complexity of aging patients.
  • Educational expertise in developing learning experiences for pharmacy students About geriatric patients in coursework or clinical experience experiences.
  • Academic publications or other dissemination related to The care of older adults from their medical professional perspective.
About the Department

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota was created more than 50 years ago in response to a legislative mandate to train primary care physicians. Since then, we have been leaders in transforming the specialty through education, research, and patient care. We are the academic sponsor of seven family medicine residencies-five in the Twin Cities, two in Greater Minnesota. We are involved in medical student education activities across the Medical School's two campuses: Twin Cities and Duluth. We sponsor five fellowship programs-sports medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, behavioral medicine, clinical informatics, and human sexuality- and offer continuing medical education opportunities. We are regularly among the top National Institutes of Health-funded family medicine departments. Our faculty are actively researching health disparities, healthcare delivery, and population health. Pay and Benefits

Pay Rate: $58.30; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
