Indy Star, part of the USA TODAY Network, is seeking a competitive reporter who understands the value of breaking news then turning to a people-first approach to telling the full story of how that news affects them. Breaking news reporters are part of a broader public safety team that covers criminal justice from all angles. This is shoe leather, knock and talk, interview more than authorities reporting. It's examining all the reasons behind the city's crime through the lens of the people living it day-to-day. Indy Star is the winner of three Pulitzer Prizes, including in 2021 for national reporting. You'll work with and learn from some of journalism's best while living in a vibrant and diverse city in the heart of the Midwest.
