The Production Engineering Manager leads a cross-functional team that creates reliable and innovative processes across five US and Canada production sites. This role is responsible for translating Large Projects & Complex Customers requests into simplified manufacturing work instructions for a seamless execution at the shop floor level. It will also continuously reassess team strategy at an organizational level as well as a systems level to manage incoming flow of large project work.


What You'll do
  • Define and re-evaluate organizational structure to effectively support large project growth & prefabrication needs; inclusive of upcoming system and process needs based on project pipeline.
  • Lead and develop a team consisting of engineers and systems experts to support multiple product sites, inclusive of ongoing evaluations of necessary skillsets & education to support large projects.
  • Ensure success of cross-functional collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement across five production sites: Engineering Service Center (ESC) in Lewisville and Value-Added Services Center (VASC) in Visalia, Toronto, Lewisville and Dayton.
  • Understand and lead the translation of large project strategy into clear, actionable team initiatives.
  • Oversee and align various production engineering activities across five prefabrication facilities, each with distinct maturity levels and complex customer requirements (e.g., Make-To-Order vs Engineer-To-Order projects).
  • Develop a mid-to-long-term roadmap and prioritize strategic initiatives to effectively absorb volume growth while positively impacting Customer Experience.
  • Lead complex projects with direct executive leadership visibility, collaborating with the design Engineering group and Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Define and implement innovative & scalable processes to support modular construction and efficient production; specifically with the introduction of new complex designs (3D design) and products.
  • Champion Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (SAP Manufacturing) usage by balancing end-user-friendliness with effective data capture for decision-making.
  • Introduce design-for-manufacturing initiatives & manufacturing drafting best-practices through prototyping and Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) to improve product readiness and operational flow (positively impacting First-Pass Yield).
  • Act as a main interface with internal stakeholders such as PMO, Product Modification operations, Engineering Center of Excellence (ECE) (Engineering & CAD), and other departments (BU F&P Solutions / Global Logistics) to ensure alignment and successful execution of Prefabrication projects.
  • Serve as a change agent for process transformation and digital adoption across the network.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring
  • Master's degree (mechanical or industrial engineering, business administration, or equivalent), required.
  • Eight (8) years' experience in manufacturing or production engineering, inclusive of three (3) years in a leadership capacity, required.
  • Proven experience leading cross-site and/or multi-functional teams, required.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing, ERP System (SAP) and process improvement, required.
  • Demonstrated success in building and developing a high-performing team.
  • Ability to navigate complex topics, explain leadership and develop results through collaboration.
  • Strong analytical skills, inclusive of complex analysis and communicating complex topics at different levels in the organization.
  • High level of commitment, eager to learn with the ability to work in a structured and self-reliant way.
  • Concentrated attention to detail while maintaining focus on the bigger picture, including cross-functional and global operational views.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
