About the Job

The Humphrey School of Public Affairs is seeking a Senior Fellow in Public Finance and Budgeting. This is a 75% FTE, 12-month, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track position, with an initial term of at least two years. Candidates should have an exceptional record of accomplishments in leading state government, local government, and/or nonprofit organization financial management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching four three-credit equivalent courses per year at the Humphrey School, including the core public finance budgeting courses;
  • Providing curriculum leadership to design a series of public finance and budgeting courses;
  • Supporting the executive education programs and mid-career Master of Public Affairs (MPA) programs for the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, through teaching, advising, curriculum guidance, or program leadership;
  • Actively seeking funding through strategic revenue generation and cost recovery initiatives across multiple sources-including foundation grants, private sector partnerships, government funding opportunities, entrepreneurial ventures, and individual donor cultivation-to support and expand other Humphrey programs, including but not limited to partnering with the Institute for Urban and Regional Infrastructure Finance;
  • Advising Humphrey School students;
  • Engaging with government and nonprofit partners to deliver a set of programming to cultivate student interest and connections in the field of public finance and budgeting;
  • Collaborating with Humphrey faculty on state and local government engagement and research.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in public policy, public finance, or related area
  • 10+ years of financial leadership experience in the public and/or nonprofit sectors

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master's degree in public policy, public finance, or related area
  • Teaching and course development experience at the collegiate level

Pay Range: $82,750

Time Appointment: 75% Appointment
