Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide financial and budgetary support for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This is a full-time position.



Responsibilities

    Provide business management support such as financial analysis, cost control, customer pricing, and financial reporting. These functions include business process analysis to describe and create defined business and operations controls and processes.
  • Classify, monitor, track, and summarize financial data for the preparation and submission of reports (e.g., burn rates) on a recurring basis.
  • Use automated scripts and custom alerts to monitor individual account budgets and investigate the root cause when real-time expenditures exceed budgets to ensure effective financial management.
  • Manage and optimize the utilization of Reserved Instances and Savings Plans by using pre-developed automated scripts and custom alerts and provide strategic recommendations to ensure full utilization of these cloud resources.
  • Provide financial analysis, cost estimation, and other analyses in support of determining optimal cloud solution for AIF customers.
  • Perform comparative analyses of various competitively bid cloud hosting solutions to support informed decision-making.


Qualifications

10+ years experience in financial analysis. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, organization and management, or related field. Demonstrated skill in quantitative financial analysis and budgetary control, with thorough working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices. Able to provide enhancement and development of existing and future financial planning models and decision tools, monitoring actual financial performance against plan objectives and preparation of various management reports and performance summaries. Able to communicate business financials clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong documentation skills with a commitment to quality and accuracy of data and financial reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be detail-oriented with a focus on quality and compliance. Must be a US citizen.
