This is an onsite position within our facility in Syracuse, NY.

Wenger Corporation is actively seeking a Buyer who is responsible for coordinating the procurement of products and services, supporting the JR Clancy product lines, to ensure adequate supply at the best cost, service, and quality to manufacturing.

At a minimum you'll need:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Prior purchasing experience
• Five (5) years experience with purchased, fabricated/machined products, and/or electrical components/assemblies
• Proven organizational skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• ERP/MRP system experience

It'd be great if you also have:

• 2- or 4-year College Degree or equivalent experience
• Epicor experience and knowledge
• Understanding of process improvement techniques
• Manufacturing fabrication or assembly experience
• Print reading and/or CAD experience

As a Buyer, a typical day might include:

• Planning for material requirements using MRP system (Epicor) and requests from Production and Project Management
• Implementing safety stock levels and reorder quantities based on direction from Production Manager, adapting to new product introductions and changing demand
• Purchasing of materials, products, and outside fabrication services which represents a mix of standard and custom designed components and products
• Soliciting vendor quotations and negotiating pricing and rates
• Coordinating with Production and Project Management staff to ensure on-time and low-cost delivery of purchased materials, products and services
• Leading selection and evaluation of Wenger Corporations approved vendors
• Monitoring vendor performance and changing approved vendor list status as needed
• Coordinating with outside vendors including follow-up on Supplier Corrective Action Reports
• Identifying nonconformities and initiating Corrective Action Reports and Supplier Corrective Action Reports, as needed
• Complying with all requirements of the Quality Management System
• Performing work activities that are in line with achieving the companys Quality Objectives
