What You'll Do

The Central Sterilization Lead is a hands-on role within the Central Sterilization Facility (CSF) that supports day-to-day operations while serving as a developmental leadership position. Reporting to a Central Sterilization Supervisor, the lead functions as a technical and operational resource for CSF staff, helping to ensure consistent workflow, adherence to protocols, and effective communication across shifts.

This role is not a supervisory position, but a leadership-in-training role designed to support supervisors, reinforce standards, assist with training and coverage coordination, and contribute to operational problem-solving. The Lead plays a key role in stabilizing operations during peak periods, staff absences, and special events, while building the skills required for future supervisory advancement.

This role may perform other related duties as necessary to support evolving organizational needs and institutional priorities.


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:
Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a sterile processing or central sterilization environment.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • CRCST - Certified and Registered Central Service Technician preferred or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a dental or academic healthcare environment.
  • Prior experience serving as an informal lead, trainer, or preceptor.
  • Interest in leadership development and advancement into supervisory roles.
  • Proficiency with instrument tracking systems and basic computer applications.

Pay Range

Minimum $24.70, Midpoint $29.50, Maximum $34.20

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
