Title: Pull-down Operator with Winchester
Location: Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Independence, MO

Salary: Pay rates up to $26.00; depending on prior experience.

Schedule: 4-10s M-TH; 6:00AM-4:30PM or 6:00PM-4:30AM.

Focus: The Pull-down Operator is responsible for safely running machinery that disassembles ammunition.

Pull-down operator Essential Job Functions:
  • Operate and monitor pull-down equipment and machinery; performs mechanical adjustments and repairs to production equipment.
  • Visual inspections of parts and machinery, to ensure manufacturing specifications are achieved.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly.

Pull-down operator Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have current driver's license.
  • Basic working knowledge of mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience operating mechanical production type equipment; prior mechanical experience at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant strongly preferred.
  • Ability to use power and non-power hand tools.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, reach overheard, twist and bend at the waist, climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry 30-40 lbs., push up to 1,000 lbs. pounds, including team lifts and use of support devices (hand cart, pallet jacks, gondolas, etc.)
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift, including weekends and overtime.

Location-Specific Requirements:

  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
