Temporary Lab Technician

The candidate will be trained to operate all fine analytical instruments in the Phytochemical Lab, including Infinity HPLC, Waters Xevo LCMS, Gas Chromatograph, Circular Dicromism, Polarimeter, Grace Rveleris Prep Purification, Dynamic Extractions High-Performance Counter Current Chromatograph, and Agilent QTOF. This particular lab hourly will be assisting in a project involving acylated and non-acylated anthocyanin pigments in purple carrots; daily tasks will include anthocyanin extractions from the plant matrix, quantification, data logging and tracking, and experimentation with a 3-stage artificial gastrointestinal tract to gauge which moieties of anthocyanins are most bioaccessible in digestions. The candidate will attend regular lab meetings and gain experience in presentation of results.
