Position Summary
This job has a high level of independent responsibilities for managing all aspects related to the MAcc and Five-Year ( BBA/MAcc) program. The position is an integral part of the School by bringing together students with future employers in providing Career Services for BBA and MAcc accounting students who are seeking part-time employment, internships, and permanent employment. The involvement with undergraduate and graduate programs lends itself to planning and executing two accounting career fairs, several MAcc student events, meetings with campus recruiters, and the Tull Annual Awards Banquet. Additional duties involve managing classroom and enrollment issues, and other related duties.

Duties/Responsibilities
Significant responsibility for all aspects of the MAcc, BBA/MAcc Programs, and MAcc Dual Degree Programs (175-200 Students) to include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Provide academic advising each semester for all admitted MAcc students (traditional, Double Dawgs, and dual degree students), including both new admits and those already enrolled in the program.
  • Provide information to current and prospective MAcc students and to other interested stakeholders through presentations, meetings, and other communications.
  • Assist MAcc Director with management of degree offerings, dual degrees, etc.
  • Provide career advice for current MAcc students and collect employment data from MAcc students prior to graduation.
  • Meet with prospective MAcc students to discuss curriculum, careers, etc.
  • Assist MAcc admissions committee each semester.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the Graduate School relating to MAcc program.
  • Handle registration problems.
  • Review business elective offerings to avoid conflicts with MAcc classes.
  • Organize distribution of courses to MAcc students.
  • Ensure compliance with all graduation requirements for MAcc students.
  • Review, award, assign and manage MAcc assistantships (currently approximately 25 students) and submit required Graduate Assistantship paperwork to Terry Business Office, Deans Office, UGA HR and Graduate School.
  • Nominate students selected by MAcc admissions committee for Regents out-of-state waivers and Office of International Education out-of-state waivers.
  • Counsel students on CPA Exam logistics.
  • Provide "proof of degree completion" letters for 5-Year students who have not earned their BBA prior to sitting for the exam.
  • Contact for the Georgia State Board of Accountancy.
  • Any issues or concerns for the MAcc program are directed to this position or the MAcc faculty director.
  • Perform graduation checks by collecting program of study forms via Grad Status.
  • Plan and execute MAcc Orientation- Fall and Spring semester.
  • Select graduation gifts for MAcc students, ensure appropriate branding, distribute gifts to graduates each term.
  • Plan and execute MAcc CPA pass parties, MAcc lockers, MAcc buddy program, and other MAcc events, with the assistance of other MAcc staff and the MAcc faculty director.
  • Enter PhD waiver requests via Gradstatus as needed at request of PhD coordinator.

Duties/Responsibilities
Responsible for Tull School Career Services for BBA-Accounting (400-500 Students) and MAcc (175-200 Students) including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as Tull's primary liaison with employers and recruiters.
  • Organize, promote and direct annual Accounting Career Fair (fall) and Meet Your Employe (spring) events, with over 50 employers and 300 students in attendance.
  • Solicit and report salary, placement, and graduation information through MAcc Exit Survey.
  • Maintain statistical reports on permanent career placement for use in Tull annual reports and for accreditation.
  • Counsel Tull students regarding the interview process and job search.
  • Collaborate with the UGA Career Center and Career Consultant as needed.
  • Present in ACCT 5700 regarding resumes- instruct, review, and edit for inclusion in the Tull School Resume Book for employers.
  • Collect internship data for tracking purposes
  • Assist other Tull faculty and staff with promotion of accounting major and careers.

Duties/Responsibilities
Schedule MAcc academic course offerings in Banner three times a year:

  • Manage enrollment across MAcc courses.
  • Create and/or edit any degree program information for university, college publications, and/or web sites.
  • Serve as Tull point of contact for CPA prep course representatives.
  • Assist Tull director and MAcc Director with selection of students to be recognized at the Terry College's Honors Day ceremony.
  • Assist Tull director and MAcc Director with selection of students to be nominated for Beta Gamma Sigma.
  • Assist with both the Undergraduate and Graduate Terry Convocation ceremonies.
  • Assist PhD coordinator with creation and scheduling of PhD courses and clear PhD student holds as needed.
  • Conduct Graduate Assistant feedback surveys.
  • Serve as Tull point of contact for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, administered by FACS.

Responsible for planning the Annual Accounting Awards Banquet (250-300 participants), but not limited to, the following:

  • Secure keynote speaker for annual banquet.
  • Work with special events office to secure location of banquet.
  • Plan and organize banquet to recognize outstanding accounting students.
  • Collaborate with OMC to create Banquet invitation.
  • Oversee invitation distribution and seating assignments.
  • Solicit student applications for the awards.
  • Provide data for the Awards Committee's review.
  • Contact scholarship donors with recipients' credentials prior to banquet.
  • Secure emcee and produce the script for the evening's presentation.
  • Arrange distribution of awards and presenters.
  • Work with Terry Development Office as needed for new memorial scholarship presentations.
  • Provide award letters and/or plaques for presentation.
