Job Summary

Highly motivated and responsible Research Associate to join the Trait Discovery Mass Spectrometry (TDMS) team. This role focuses on supporting protein analysis workflows using enzymatic digestion, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and mass spectrometry techniques.

The candidate will play a key role in ensuring timely and high-quality lab results through efficient lab operations, sample preparation, and analytical support.


Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare lab reagents and maintain inventory



  • Perform routine laboratory support tasks:




    • Solution preparation



    • Lab cleaning and maintenance



    • Lab supply inventory management



    • Equipment and assay operation





  • Conduct:




    • Sample extraction



    • Total protein quantitation



    • Enzymatic digestion





  • Assist in loading and running samples on:




    • Chromatography systems



    • Mass spectrometry instruments





  • Troubleshoot processes and resolve technical issues



  • Ensure all materials are prepared safely and on time



  • Promote a safe working environment



  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities




Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field (or equivalent experience)



  • Strong wet-lab skills



  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment



  • High attention to detail and focus



  • Problem-solving and analytical skills



  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented



  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills




Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with protein analysis



  • Knowledge of proteomics sample preparation



  • Familiarity with:




    • Mass spectrometry



    • High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)





  • Experience with database maintenance
