Job Description:
  • Candidate position is for a subassembly technician in the *** Technologies facility in Goleta, California, involved in the packaging of IR detectors for high reliability space, military and commercial application
Role & Responsibilities:
  • A self-motivated, self-disciplined individual is the ideal candidate for this position.
  • Ability to work with individuals and teams outside the department maybe be required.
  • Technicians are responsible for precision hand painting of small subassemblies using fine tools under a microscope.
  • This role requires exceptional attention to detail, steady hand control, and the ability to maintain focus while seated for extended periods.
  • The technician ensures all work meets strict quality and production standards in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Technicians will be expected to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and strictly follow all safety related processes, procedures, and protocols.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Perform detailed hand painting of small subassemblies using brushes, needles, or other fine applicators
  • Work under a microscope for extended periods to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Follow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Inspect painted components to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations, adhering to safety and contamination control protocols
  • Track and document production activities, including quantities completed and defects identified
  • Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to address process improvements or defects
  • Handle delicate components with care to prevent damage during processing
  • Meet daily production targets while maintaining high-quality standards
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
  • Strong attention to detail and visual acuity
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Patience and ability to maintain concentration on detailed work
  • Basic documentation and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to follow precise instructions and procedures
  • Must be able to navigate computer system to follow work instructions.
Education Level Required:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required for this position.
  • Technicians are required to understand written and verbal instruction.
How will the contractor's success be measured?
  • Successfully complete on-line factory access training.
  • Successfully complete approval skill training.
Culture:
  • The contractor will be working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Technicians will train under a senior technician, technician lead, or process engineer depending on the skill set requirements and sensitivity of the operation involved.
