DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
In this position, you will design and lead a comprehensive orientation program for newly hired nursing staff. This involves researching, planning, implementing, coordinating, and continuously improving program effectiveness. You will monitor each employee's progress throughout the orientation period, providing clear evaluations and documentation to support their development. Responsibilities also include creating, scheduling, and delivering professional education and in-service training programs that meet licensure regulations and align with DMVA standards and other governing bodies. You will develop and present engaging lesson plans on a wide range of health-related topics, tailored to the evolving needs of the facility and its staff. To stay current with best practices, you will participate in required in-service and optional external training opportunities. You will also work closely with supervisors and human resources to coordinate staff participation in training programs, ensuring a well-prepared and highly skilled nursing team.

- Full-time employment, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will have a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends as needed.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of professional nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in nursing, nursing education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university; or
- One year of professional nursing experience and a master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.

- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
