Summary: The Business Operations Engineer II will facilitate and coordinate efforts to ensure Performance Excellence programs are developed and managed using a data driven focus which sets priorities for improvements aligned to ongoing strategic imperatives. The Business Operations Engineer II role is at the center of critical efforts to continuously evolve the organization and make impactful changes. This is a hands-on role, diving deep to understand the current situation and processes utilizing critical thinking to understand root causes, recommend changes and new designs. This position deals with highly sensitive and confidential information and interacts with internal and external customers at all levels throughout the organization. Responsibilities:
- Develops trusting and positive relationships with all customers, associates, leaders, physicians, patients, vendors, and visitors
- Identifies actionable insights, suggests recommendations, and communicates results to cross-functional teams
- Leads teams, work groups, projects, and activities designed to improve operational performance and processes
- Manages own projects as assigned by department leadership team, with responsibility for meeting deadlines
- Provides performance excellence and project management tools for initiatives and identifies opportunities for improvement
- Prepares documents, diagrams, and presentations to illustrate findings. Presents to all levels of associates and leadership as well as external audiences
- Conducts data analysis as needed for assigned projects
- Research opportunities for performance excellence, maintains plans, and leads teams in achieving performance excellence
- Coordinates with project managers, business and industrial engineers and various other teams to identify potential for improvement
- Participates in special projects and performs other job duties as assigned
Requirements: Education/Skills
- Master's Degree in Business/Healthcare Administration or other healthcare-related advanced degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Outlook
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma
- Ability to work full-time in a hospital, clinic, or office environment
- Ability to work with all levels of associates across the organization
- Exceptional teaching, speaking and interpersonal communication skills
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience
- Preferred experience in a healthcare setting
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications*
- Lean Green Belt, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Lean-Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
