POSITION SUMMARY:


The Senior Director, Marketing, Cardiac Surgery is responsible for owning and advancing the overall strategy, growth, and performance of the Open Ablation franchise. This role leads the business case for sustained growth, owns portfolio and lifecycle strategy, and drives both upstream innovation and downstream commercialization initiatives across the therapy area.



The position serves as the primary voice and champion for the Open Ablation franchise, shaping long-term vision while ensuring disciplined execution. This role is accountable for leading and influencing cross-functional stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Training & Education, Research and Development, Operations, Finance, Quality, and Regulatory to deliver innovative solutions, successful product launches, strong customer engagement, and measurable business results.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:



  • Own and lead the overall strategy for the Open Ablation franchise, serving as the primary voice and champion for the therapy area across the organization.
  • Set the long-term vision and growth strategy based on deep clinical, market, customer, and competitive insight.
  • Own full product lifecycle and portfolio strategy for the Open Ablation franchise, representing the franchise in company-wide portfolio, investment, and prioritization decisions.
  • Define and execute the marketing strategy for the franchise, including positioning, messaging, go-to-market plans, and launch execution to achieve growth and financial objectives.
  • Establish a data-driven culture, defining key business and performance metrics to guide decisions, prioritize investments, and track franchise performance.
  • Lead customer and thought leader engagement, ensuring strong partnerships with physicians, clinicians, hospitals, and KOLs, and contributing to enterprise-wide KOL strategy.
  • Guide innovation and future pipeline strategy, identifying unmet needs, emerging technologies, new markets, and growth opportunities to inform product development and long-range planning.
  • Partner closely with R&D and cross-functional teams to translate voice-of-customer and clinical insights into product requirements and successful product development.
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance alignment in all marketing and product planning activities, reinforcing a strong compliance culture across the franchise.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Training & Education, and International teams to align strategy, educate field teams, and support achievement of revenue and adoption targets.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor high-performing teams, directing multiple product or service groups, shaping organizational structure, and building a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Develop and manage franchise budgets and staffing plans, ensuring efficient use of resources to meet strategic and financial goals.
  • Act as a senior leader within the organization, influencing without authority, shaping ways of working, and driving alignment across functions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, biomedical engineering required or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Minimum of thirteen (13) years successful sales/marketing or related experience in medical devices
  • Minimum ten (10) years managerial experience
  • Track record of thorough analysis of a business unit, coupled with the ability to win supporters in the larger organization
  • Experience aligning with top company executives and leading through influences
  • Direct experience with US and INTL physicians, strong familiarity with CS, IC, and/or EP procedures
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority, in particular R&D teams
  • Builds and nurtures relationships internally and with external customers
  • Analytical and strategic, effective communicator, and strong moderator/presenter
  • Hands-on and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel up to 50%



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Experience with international organizations and customers

  • Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
  • Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
