Job description
The IR Manager plays a critical role in executing the company's investor relations strategy and advancing its capital markets objectives.The position supports strategic IR planning, investor targeting, market intelligence, and performance measurement, while also managing day-to-day investor communications and programs. The IR Manager will work in the Houston Corporate office and may work up to two days a week remotely, as business needs allow. IR Strategy & Planning
- Support and execute the annual IR strategy and operating plan
- Define and monitor IR goals and success metrics (investor engagement, shareholder mix, analyst coverage, valuation, liquidity)
- Contribute to messaging frameworks that enhance valuation, credibility, and differentiation
- Ensure messaging aligns with corporate strategy, performance, and regulatory requirements
- Implement continuous improvements to investor base quality, liquidity, analyst coverage, and capital access
Investor Engagement & Communications
- Develop investor-facing materials: earnings presentations, press releases, scripts, FAQs, investor decks, webinars, website content, and other communications
- Manage inbound investor and analyst inquiries with timely, accurate responses
- Maintain consistent messaging with retail investors, analysts, rating agencies, banks, and other stakeholders
- Plan investor meetings, roadshows, conferences, and site visits to maximize impact
Market Intelligence & Analysis
- Build and manage company and peer valuation models; monitor analyst reports, earnings models, consensus estimates, and peer disclosures
- Track shareholder ownership, trading activity, and investor sentiment
- Prepare market summaries, investor feedback, and peer benchmarking for senior management
- Support investor targeting aligned with strategy and capital allocation priorities
Compliance & Collaboration
- Ensure all communications comply with Regulation FD and corporate disclosure policies
- Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Strategy, Legal, Communications, and Operations to maintain message alignment
- Support board/committee presentations, external speaking engagements, conferences, and investor-facing presentations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
- 15+ years of relevant, progressive experience (preferably in oil & gas)
- 3+ years of leadership experience in Investor Relations
- Strong understanding of financial modeling techniques used by sell-side analysts
- Proven experience creating investor-facing materials (press releases, scripts, company letters)
- Excellent problem-solving, data analysis, and attention to detail
- Strong written and presentation skills with high accuracy in disclosures
- Ability to travel as required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Experience with IR tools for surveillance, market research, and CRM
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound judgment, discretion, and integrity
- Able to manage multiple time-sensitive projects independently and collaboratively
