IT Project Manager

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Technical Project Manager for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC and Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This individual will be responsible for the end-to-end management and go-live events of high-rigor and high-complexity projects in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader heavily utilizing Agile Scrum skills and Jira tools to drive project deliverables and manage technical resources for projects spanning from reporting capabilities to high-availability enterprise applications.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the project's primary point of contact
• Establish clearly defined responsibilities and accountabilities
• Lead project execution, integration, and implementation
• Define project milestones and socialize to business partners
• Ensure milestone dates are met by driving execution of tasks
• Hold resources accountable to agreed-to task completion dates
• Engage technical resources and define their scope of work
• Perform risk management and mitigation planning
• Ensure change management process adherence
• Provide quality assurance, ensuring that all tasks are completed as specified
• Provide timely and routine updates in Jira regarding project status, accomplishments, and next steps
• Escalate project risks and issues to the Portfolio Delivery Manager and Service Delivery Manager
• Establish and maintain relationships with technical partners
• Create and deliver presentations to senior management
• Manage project go-live events, which may require occasional night and weekend hours

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in Technical Project Management with infrastructure build experience
• Strong project leadership skills
• Experience creating and delivering executive presentations
• Proficiency with Agile Scrum methodologies and Jira
• Knowledge of infrastructure technologies (physical server hosting, virtual machine hosting, enterprise data platform, storage, network, database, middleware, network traffic management, Network DMZ)
• Knowledge of Hadoop platforms
• Critical thinking skills for remediation planning
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Excel
