Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Technician VI to serve as the Systems and Networks Lead, acting as the senior technical authority for mission-critical U.S. Navy data multiplex systems. Also will support technical efforts across systems, software, and cybersecurity teams while ensuring successful design, integration, and operational support of shipboard networks.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and review of shipboard network design specifications and system architectures.
- Provide expert guidance on network topology, hardware selection, and interface design.
- Participate in system design reviews.
- Oversee engineering efforts from concept through deployment.
- Serve as SME on USQ-82(V) and Alcatel hardware.
- Provide technical direction for software design and integration.
- Guide development of software emulators.
- Collaborate on security posture and ATO processes.
- Troubleshoot shipboard systems and support installations.
- Participate in reviews and develop documentation.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED with technical training.
- This position requires an existing U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the Secret level. Individual must be able to maintain the necessary security clearance/eligibility for continued employment. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Experience
Required:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Mandatory: 3 years USQ-82(V) experience aboard DDG 51 Class ship.
- Ability to lead complex technical efforts.
Preferred:
- AN/USQ-82(V) systems knowledge.
- Alcatel networking hardware experience.
- Network design and integration experience.
- HM&E and multi-platform naval systems experience.
