What does a Network Engineer do at Swire Coca - Cola?
This position is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of all aspects of our internal, local, wireless, wide area data and voice networks to ensure maximum uptime for systems and users. The role includes assisting in the design of network systems and configurations, documenting and managing the installation of new and existing networks, and monitoring network performance while maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.

Responsibilities



  • Work with Sr. Engineers to establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
  • Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with internal and external partners on network optimization. Technical support and troubleshooting of Voice over IP (VoIP) systems and all network connectivity
  • Provide support for wireless communication devices including, but not limited to, wireless access points, laptops, handhelds, voice pick phones, printers, and warehouse devices
  • Help monitor network performance and alert systems to ensure uptime and reliability
  • Support senior network engineers in troubleshooting and resolving connectivity and performance issues
  • Participate in routine network maintenance, patching, and upgrades
  • Document network configurations, changes, and procedures
  • Processes and prioritizes work requests and escalations in a timely and efficient manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements



  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred
  • 2+ years experience in IT field required
  • 1+ years Networking Engineering experience required
  • Understanding of network firewall, routers, switches and other devices (preferably Cisco)
  • Knowledge of Active Directory administration required
  • Understanding of TCP/IP network functionality
  • Knowledge of SDWAN and Conditional Access technologies
  • Analytical thinking (strategic thinking, thinking systematically, and problem solving)
  • Ability to be a self-starter, prioritize work, and meets deadlines
  • Ability to explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and fosters understanding
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Passion for current and future technology
  • Processes and prioritizes work requests and escalations in a timely and efficient manner
