The Sanitation Manager is responsible for maintaining and keeping all production and receiving areas cleaned. They will direct and coordinate the execution of activities related to the cleaning and sanitizing of the facility and on-site equipment at the plants. They will conduct all aspects of job duties in a safe and responsible manner.

The Sanitation manager will partner with other department Managers to establish a defined cleaning frequency, training, work instructions, and through verification activities ensures the effectiveness of the facility sanitation program.

Role & Responsibilities



  • Creating and distributing work schedules for the sanitation workers.
  • Performing daily inspections of the manufacturing facility and reporting any irregularities. Coordinating and monitoring cleaning schedules.
  • Inspecting the manufacturing process to determine sanitation protocols Ensures proper Good Manufacturing Practices are always followed.
  • Develops and maintains applicable records (EPA, BRC, AIB, etc.).
  • Assigns and directs work of sanitation employees and any contract employees Maintains safe working environment for all employees/contractors.
  • Promotes safety in all areas of operations. Participates in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety program.
  • Participates in accident investigations.
  • Promote employee safety in all areas of operations. Other related duties as assigned by Branch Manager.


Requirements & Physical Demands



  • Ability to arrive to work on time consistently
  • Three or more years in plant sanitation management. Preferably in an industrial bakery Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in pest control and the food manufacturing industry Able to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Have the ability to stand and/or stoop for the full shift Working holidays and weekends is frequently required Must be 18 years or older



Essential Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push and pull heavy wheeled equipment or carts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time during a shift, maintaining a normal range of motion in all extremities.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and crouch to access equipment, tools, or materials.
  • Ability to use arms, hands and fingers to handle or operate machinery, tools or controls.
  • Ability to perceive and respond immediately to visual and audible safety alerts and warnings to ensure the safety of self and others in a fast-paced, hazard-sensitive environment with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and airborne particles, odors and fumes.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or work platforms as required by the position.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods using office equipment and computer systems.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and protective clothing for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
