Team Overview

The successful candidate will support global billing operations and be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing across regions, customer segments, and legal entities. This role partners closely with Revenue Accounting, Finance Operations, Sales, and IT to support the endtoend ordertocash process, including invoice generation, billing adjustments, credits, and issue resolution.

The role contributes to maintaining a strong billing control environment, improving processes, and supporting system enhancements that drive accuracy, efficiency, and scalability across the global billing function.

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Billing and works crossfunctionally to support consistent global billing practices and a positive customer experience. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview and Core Responsibilities

  • This role exists to provide strong operational ownership and governance over billing for the Tubs and Phoenix Business Units, ensuring billing accuracy, regulatory compliance, scalable processes, and a consistent customer billing experience as the business continues to grow globally.

The Senior Billing Lead aligns closely with the Global Billing Manager to support the operations and governance of the company's billing function for the Tubs and Phoenix Business Units. The role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in invoicing and revenue recognition across all regions, balancing local regulatory requirements with global business objectives. This position drives standardization, automation, and continuous improvement in billing processes while partnering closely with Finance, Sales, Legal, IT, and Operations.

  • Partner with Global Process Leadership and the Global Billing Manager to execute billing strategies that support business growth and scalability.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage billing teams, ensuring consistent global standards while meeting local regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee endtoend billing for the Tubs and Phoenix Business Units, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant invoicing.
  • Maintain strong billing controls and audit mechanisms to ensure compliance with GAAP and local tax regulations (e.g., VAT, GST).
  • Partner with Finance leadership on revenue assurance, forecasting support, and monthend and quarterend close activities.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to ensure contracts are billable, compliant, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Define and monitor KPIs and dashboards to track billing performance, accuracy, and cycle times.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on standardization, automation, efficiency, and error reduction.

Required Knowledge and Experiences

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in billing operations, with at least 5 years in a people leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success leading billing functions within a multinational organization.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles and billing compliance requirements.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and billing systems such as PeopleSoft, Salesforce, and HighRadius (preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, matrixed, and evolving environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Pay Scale Information: The U.S. base salary range for this position is $82,700.00 - $120,000.00 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual's education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion's annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
