Hybrid Work Schedule - 4 days remote, 1 day onsite Department Summary The Library Analytics, Metrics and Assessment (LAMA) team is part of the Digital Strategies unit. LAMA supports UCLA Library's mission by enabling consistent, targeted, data-informed decision-making. The team gathers data & assists leadership to identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, optimize workflows, & strengthen the Library's ability to deliver effective, high-quality services. LAMA is charged with the following: 1) leveraging technology, metrics & systems for workflow development & enhancement for Library services. 2) establishing dashboards &reports that provide metrics for Library leadership for the purpose demonstrating impact & improving services. 3) cultivating a culture of project management by providing resources, consultations, templates & best-practices guidelines for the Library. 4) sharing resources enabling Library staff to gather data that could be used to inform their work. Campus Library Instructional Computing Commons (CLICC) provides services such as equipment lending andinnovative technology support for use in teaching and learning and employs 40 some student staff in delivering theseservices. The Digital Strategies (DS) unit supports library staff & users by providing local & remote access to librarytechnologies. Supported technology resources include the integrated library system & online catalog; networkconnectivity including servers, storage, operating system & application services delivery; & programming &application development in support of digital & web-based initiatives. Through collaborative efforts w/all areas ofUCLA's libraries, DS assists in the development & delivery of technologies for all types of electronic resources. Thestaff also work as collaborative partners w/units in other areas of the library, & provide tech support for the majorbusiness systems used by the libraries. Position Summary Reporting to the head of Library Analytics, Metrics & Assessment (LAMA), the Library Technical Project Manager (LTPM) provides help in managing projects at three levels: 1) direct management of projects, 2) coaching for managers of other projects, and 3) assisting the AUL with planning and monitoring the project portfolio. The LTPM performs project management for multiple concurrent technology projects, including software development, systems and data migrations, tool adoptions and deployments, etc. The LTPM works with stakeholders to articulate goals, define scope, and prioritize deliverables; collaborates with project teams to develop project plans; monitors progress during project implementation and communicates status with stakeholders, project teams, and Library management. The LTPM works with key library and campus partners to develop and clarify service-level agreements to ensure future sustainability. The LTPM will provide guidance to peers in the department leading other projects. The number of projects will usually exceed the capacity of the LTPM, so other projects will be managed by unit heads, tech leads, and occasionally individual contributors. To ensure these projects are carried out effectively, the LTPM will provide them with tools, techniques, templates, etc. to help standardize the process and facilitate the Digital Strategies & Collections Services AUL's ability to monitor their progress. The LTPM will serve as an analyst of the project portfolio for the department, helping the AUL Library leadership look at all current and upcoming activities, assess resources and capacity, set achievable roadmaps, and monitor progress. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range.
