Our internship program provides a realistic view of what it's like to work at McHugh through hands-on experiences working on the IT team. Through our 12-week internship program you'll be able to strengthen your resume and set the foundation for your professional career. As a member of McHugh's IT department, the intern will work with department staff in support of internal team members. While the position functions as general and administrative IT support, the intern will also be tasked with specific IT projects to assist him or her in the development of educational and professional interests. McHugh Construction is a fourth-generation, privately-owned company and one of the largest full-service construction firms in the U.S. We have transformed some of the most luxurious five-star hotels like the Peninsula, Ritz-Carlton Chicago, Four Seasons, constructed record setting high rise buildings with NEMA Chicago, St. Regis Chicago, Aqua Tower, and built recreational facilities at United Center and Indoor Track & Field Facility at Gately Park. We are looking for a student who has an interest in construction and the build environment, someone with strong communication and writing skills, experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or coding experience, and can lift 30+ pounds.

Example of Responsibilities:
  • Assist with new employee orientations and equipment preparation
  • Assist with origination and classification of excess IT equipment
  • Assist with the testing of access points and network drive connections
  • Decommission and dismantle machines
  • Install access and drives on machines
  • Assist with helpdesk requests as capable
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Eligibility:
  • Freshman, Sophomore or Junior or with Computer Science and/or Information Technology major preferred (other areas of study may be considered)
