Barnes Aerospace has an exciting and rewarding career opportunity for a P&L Leader to lead its OEM - East Hartford Operations site. As General Manager (GM), you'll play an integral role in directing and executing the business goals and objectives for achieving profitable, sustainable growth for the site. Core Responsibilities:



  • The General Manager will have full P&L responsibility for the East Hartford Operations OE site providing leadership and direction to both organizations in achieving their performance and financial objectives as defined and aligned on through the Company's annual profit planning process.
  • Ensure effective execution and achieve profitable revenue and market share growth through the effective management and execution of OE manufacturing and process capabilities. Partner with commercial team to expand offerings to new and existing customers.
  • Completely owns the numbers from driving the development of and participate in reviewing and approving short- and long-term sales plans, other operating objectives, and profit plans.
  • A strong team leader and team builder focused on generating results through collaboration, influence and relationship building as much as direct line authority. Builds a passionate and driven management team that possesses unmatched intensity balanced with passion & professionalism who desires, understands, and motivates other on "how to win".
  • Attracts, develops, and retains talented people, creating and sustaining a high-performance culture.
  • Drives accountability to achieve short-term and long-term business success and required financial performance, successfully defining, and implementing countermeasure to address headwinds and challenges - planned or unforeseen to deliver on commitments. Plans and directs the overall activities to meet or exceed established performance metrics including safety and environmental stewardship aligned with the company strategy for achieving profitable, sustainable growth.
  • Effectively works with peers to enhance the performance of the overall Barnes Aerospace business. Embraces an "enterprise mindset" - executing plans for the specific site while supporting the achievement of the short/long-term goals of Barnes Aerospace.
  • Drive increased productivity and efficiency through continuous improvement activities and Lean Manufacturing principles. Ensures the effective management of operating methods, budget spending, manpower/resource utilization and labor efficiency, and material scheduling and capacity planning.



Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of P&L and operations experience in a manufacturing environment in aerospace.
  • At least 3+ years of experience of effectively leading and managing people. A proven track record of implementing and successfully executing strategies to build and sustain a high-performance work environment. Solid track record of business development experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate sales, operations, finance, logistics and human resource disciplines to maximize the site P&L performance.
  • Develops and implements performance indicators to continually improve the efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing operations.
  • Must be an effective change leader; balances consistency with flexibility and willing to change ideas in the face of new information.
  • Impeccable integrity; superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Views opportunities for digitalization/artificial intelligence/automation to facilitate continuous improvement and enhancement.
  • Motivated to think creatively, while holding themselves accountable to achieve desired results and outcomes.
  • Views data analytics as critical to decision-making; and leverages it to formulate plans and execute/deliver on them.



Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required in business management, engineering or related discipline required. MBA or advanced degree a definite plus.
