Ever-Green Energy is looking for a team member responsible for the modification of automatic control and instrumentation systems. Analyzes malfunctions of instrument and control systems, prepares reports on metering, tracks preventative maintenance records, and provides engineering services for various projects and design changes. Minimum requirements to be successful in this role:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of experience in process plant instrumentation and control systems and three years of experience in DCS and computer control systems.
  • Demonstrate ability to coordinate operations and maintenance activities and set and achieve goals with a high degree of self-initiation and independence.
  • Ability to work well with others, to communicate clearly both orally and in writing and to direct and/or train others.
  • Familiarity with boiler and chiller equipment and their auxiliaries and with all types of maintenance work.
  • Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and plant controls applications.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics/blueprints.
  • Proficient in Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) program.

Preferred requirements:

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix and Woodward Turbine Control systems.
  • Supervisory experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops procedures and methods for the diagnosis and resolution of instrumentation problems.
  1. Prepares estimates, justifications, details and specifications for instrumentation plant betterment projects including supervision and coordination of these activities.
  1. Coordinates the preventative maintenance and general maintenance for the Plant Control System.
  1. Coordinates the preventative maintenance for all customer metering. Assists in the programming and calculation development of metering.
  1. Responsible for the documentation and tracking of all PLCs in the plant including software development, programming, and calibration.
  1. Provides necessary technical assistance to Engineering staff in the supervision of electrical installations.
  1. Must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and company standards and local, state and federal laws.
  1. Participates in mandatory trainings and other programs.

Secondary Job Functions:

  1. Performs other operating functions as needed to ensure uninterrupted operation of the plant.
  1. Performs other related functions as assigned.

Work Schedule:

Dependent on assignment, work schedule may involve rotating shifts (8 to 12 hours) to include some weekends and holidays and/or straight days.

Overtime can be either voluntary or mandatory. Scheduled overtime is an element of the rotating shift assignment.

The employee is frequently required to climb ladders/ropes/scaffolding; far visual acuity of clarity of vision at 20 feet or more; fine manipulation of picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in gross manipulation; gross manipulation by seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands; keyboarding; lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.; near vision acuity with clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less; peripheral vision by observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point; pushing; pulling; reaching at/below shoulder level; reaching overhead by extending arms and hands in a 150 to 180 degrees vertical arc; and standing/walking.

The employee is occasionally required to the use of a respirator; crawling; couching; foot/leg controls; kneeling; sitting; stooping; and confined space with limited entry or exit.

Must be capable of maneuvering throughout industrial facilities such as energy plants and building HVAC mechanical rooms, etc.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position involves working in a steam, hot water, and/or chilled water plant and/or its distribution system. While performing job duties, employees may occasionally encounter potential hazards, including fumes, airborne particles, high-pressure steam in piping or equipment, both hot and cold temperatures, and hazards associated with moving machinery. The work environment's noise level typically ranges from moderate to loud. Other potential hazards common to heating and cooling plants may include confined spaces, slippery surfaces, rotating equipment, chemical handling (e.g., water treatment chemicals), and burns. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided and physical controls are in place as needed to mitigate these risks.

The hourly range for this position is: $40.00 to $50.00. Pay, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment are subject to change on or around July 1, 2026 due to upcoming union negotiations.
