Senior Project Manager

STS Technical Services is hiring a Senior Project Manager in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to support complex, engineer-to-order manufacturing programs. This is a high-impact role managing large-scale industrial projects with multimillion-dollar budgets, long-lead components, and high customer visibility.

The Senior Project Manager will lead complex ETO manufacturing projects from early engineering review through full production execution. This role requires strong technical understanding, business alignment, and the ability to manage multiple active workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

Project Leadership and Customer Alignment

• Serve as the primary project owner for multiple custom industrial builds
  
• Translate customer requirements, engineering specifications, and commercial commitments into actionable production plans
  
• Maintain communication with customer-facing teams to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables
  

Advanced Scheduling and Workflow Management

• Build, manage, and optimize project schedules using Smartsheet, including dependencies, critical paths, dashboards, and automated alerts
  
• Adjust schedules in real time based on engineering changes, production constraints, and supply chain updates
  
• Use Smartsheet reporting to support visibility, risk identification, and executive-level decision-making
  

Production Coordination and Risk Mitigation

• Monitor daily production progress and remove bottlenecks
  
• Track long-lead and high-value components impacting delivery timelines
  
• Conduct hands-on inspections of custom components to validate readiness and quality
  
• Collaborate with engineering to review drawings and BOMs in advance of production
  

Cross-Functional Communication

• Partner with engineering, supply chain, production, sales, and shipping teams to maintain project flow
  
• Lead or participate in daily meetings and cross-departmental updates
  
• Provide clear, data-driven updates to internal stakeholders and leadership
  

• Strong proficiency with Smartsheet or similar project management tools, including scheduling, dashboards, formulas, and workflow automation
  
• Experience managing engineer-to-order or custom manufacturing projects
  
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple active workstreams
  
• Strong communication skills across technical and business teams
  
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Smartsheet
  

• Background in manufacturing, industrial equipment, or construction management
  
• Experience managing multimillion-dollar projects or large industrial customers
  
• Project Management certification such as PMP or CAPM
  
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand manufacturing workflows
