Summary/Objective:

Applications Engineer will focus on the design and application of existing windshield systems to customer requirements and aid in maintaining existing products. Primary responsibility will be to develop products to specific external customer specifications from concept stage to production-ready. In addition, support of existing production products through VAVE and Continuous Improvement efforts will be required. Working closely with an internal cross-functional team as well as external customers and suppliers will be essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Design and modify mechanical & electromechanical products and systems to fit application requirements
  2. Using CAD (Creo) to design products in 3D and generate detailed component and assembly models and engineering prints
  3. Create BOMs
  4. Create and maintain all documentation needed to manufacture products
  5. Create and design tooling needed for prototyping and production
  6. Assist with drawings and information needed for quoting projects and determining product feasibility
  7. Project management to ensure deliverable timelines are met
  8. Process engineering change orders (ECOs)
  9. Provide instruction and technical support for production and customers
  10. Support & overseeing of prototype build and fit to customer's expectation, including occasional travel to customer's site

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.
  • May sit for several hours at a time.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.

Qualifications:

  1. Advanced skill level in CAD software, preferably Creo and AutoCAD; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  1. Attentiveness to detail to ensure all parts of the application come together and work as intended.
  2. Interpersonal skills to be able to work with other team members to achieve desired outcomes.
  3. Problem-solving abilities to ensure issues that arise during are resolved in a timely manner.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full time salary position.

Starting salary-$60,000-$85,000

Travel:

Infrequent travel to customers and other Lippert plants.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. 1-5 years of experience of engineering design
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering field
  3. Manufacturing/industry experience preferred
