What to Expect

We are building the future of computing in partnering with SpaceX - a distributed, AI-optimized data center infrastructure operating in space. The terawatts orbital AI data center will be powered by Dojo - our custom supercomputer designed for the neural networks behind SpaceX, xAI, FSD, and Optimus.

We are seeking a visionary Power Architect to solve the ultimate engineering hurdle: 1 TW power delivery in orbit. This is not an incremental data center power management improvement, this requires first-principles innovation to deliver the power from the solar panels down to the silicon. If you are a strategic innovator with deep expertise in complex power systems, we invite you to lead this frontier.

What You'll Do
  • Architect & Innovate:Design reliable, scalable, and highly efficient end-to-end power solutions for orbital environments
  • Modeling & Optimization:Develop high-fidelity power estimation tools for AI server and rack-level systems; lead performance-vs-power trade-off analyses
  • Cross-Functional Leadership:Partner with internal silicon, packaging, SI/PI, and thermal teams-alongside SpaceX-to drive designs from concept to high-volume production
  • Advanced R&D:Evaluate emerging technologies in high-voltage to sub-volt chip conversion and delivery to maintain a competitive edge
  • Validate:Direct the prototyping and rigorous validation of next-generation power architectures

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in power architecture for high-density systems (100kW-1MW/rack), including AI/ML infrastructure
  • Expertise in AC/DC and DC-DC converters, power module design, and high-current distribution system design
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams, from individual contributors to executive leadership
  • Ability to work on-site at Tesla's Palo Alto office in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
