Are you passionate about gymnastics and ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young athletes? The Marblehead YMCA is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Xcel Coach (Bronze and/or Silver level) to join our competitive gymnastics program.

This role is ideal for a coach who is dedicated to athlete development, teamwork, and creating a positive, supportive environment where gymnasts can grow in both skill and confidence.

• Provide high-quality, age-appropriate coaching for Xcel Bronze and/or Silver gymnasts
• Adapt training plans to support individual athlete progress and overall team development
• Foster teamwork, discipline, confidence, and a love for gymnastics

• Collaborate with recreational gymnastics staff to support athlete progression into competitive programs
• Lead or assist with youth and teen recreational classes to build program engagement
• Support program growth and assist with athlete transitions between levels

• Help onboard and mentor newer coaches to promote consistency and excellence within the program

• Build positive relationships with gymnasts and their families through clear communication and support
• Represent YMCA values both inside and outside the gymnastics facility

• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming gymnastics environment
• Follow YMCA safety procedures and assist with equipment care and setup as needed

• Experience coaching Xcel Bronze or Silver athletes (both preferred)

• Extensive Coaching Experience: Proven track record as a gymnastics coach with advanced technical knowledge of gymnastics disciplines and coaching techniques.
• Certifications: Certified as a Level 8/9 coach with expertise in coaching competitive levels 6-10.
• Athlete Development: Demonstrated success in skill progression and developing gymnasts who excel and confidently compete at high levels.
• Program Design: Skilled in creating and implementing effective, individualized training programs and routines to meet gymnasts' unique needs.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to connect with athletes and build strong relationships with families through clear and supportive communication.
• Safety Compliance: SafeSport Certified (or willingness to obtain certification within 15 days of hire).
• Flexibility: Availability to work evenings and weekends to support training sessions and competition schedules.
