The Opportunity:

The Assistant Director of Alumni Professional Engagement leads efforts that support lifelong career growth for UCF alumni. This role focuses on building meaningful connections through career-focused programming, mentorship, and digital engagement.

You'll manage a portfolio of programs and platforms that help alumni at all stages stay connected, grow professionally, and give back through mentorship and volunteerism. This role works across Advancement & Partnerships and campus partners to deliver experiences that are relevant, data-informed, and aligned with workforce trends.

Classification Title: Assistant Director, Alumni Engagement

Responsibilities:

Programming & Events


  • Coordinate and manage a range of professional development programs, services, and resources for alumni.

  • Support planning and execution of signature events such as National Networking Knight, Mentorship Mixer, and career-focused webinars.


Digital Engagement & Platforms


  • Manage and grow engagement on the UCF Knights Network, including mentorship programs, networking, and business directory features.

  • Maintain and update web and digital content to ensure alignment with brand standards and engagement best practices.


Communications & Outreach


  • Develop and manage targeted communications across email, social media, web, and texting platforms.

  • Identify audience segments and tailor messaging to reach diverse alumni populations.


Volunteer & Alumni Engagement


  • Grow alumni volunteerism through mentorship and short-term engagement opportunities.

  • Build relationships with alumni leaders and ambassadors to expand program reach and impact.


Data, Reporting & Operations


  • Track and analyze engagement metrics using the Advancement CRM to support data-driven decisions.

  • Maintain budgets and ensure compliance with university financial and data privacy standards.

  • Record and manage engagement activity to support alumni participation goals.


Collaboration & Strategy


  • Partner with campus departments, career services, and external vendors to deliver aligned programming.

  • Stay current on workforce trends and benchmark programs to strengthen UCF's alumni engagement strategy.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in communications, marketing, higher education, nonprofit management, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in alumni relations, career services, program management, or engagement-focused roles.

  • Experience planning and executing events, programs, or initiatives that drive participation and engagement.

  • Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or a complex organization preferred.

  • Background managing digital platforms, online communities, or networking/mentorship tools.

  • Strong communication skills with experience developing targeted messaging across multiple channels.

  • Experience working with CRM systems to track engagement, analyze data, and inform strategy.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders, volunteers, and cross-functional partners.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Familiarity with career development trends and interest in supporting lifelong learning and professional growth.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

Advancement and Partnerships values the unique contributions that each team member brings to our division. The anticipated salary for a well-qualified candidate is $54,000 - $59,684. The final determination of a successful candidate's starting salary will vary based on several factors, including education and relevant experience. The anticipated pay scale indicated for this position generally applies to candidates who meet the minimum requirements and several of the preferred qualifications outlined above. All offers are contingent on successful background and reference screens.
