We are seeking a Electromechanical Technologist to perform a variety of duties that will assist engineers in research, testing, and the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, fabrications, assemblies, and components. Roughly 80% of the work for this position is in the laboratory and involves working with, and in the vicinity of, explosive materials. The job is diverse and requires the ability to work within a changing environment. Duties will include teaming with Principal Investigators and technical staff members, designing and operating 3-D printers and other prototyping machinery, metrology, and reporting. The ideal candidate is a person who wants to perform explosives research and development in a challenging fast paced environment where they will build, participate in, and document experiments performed inside and outside this lab. The position involves the formulation of energetic materials through various techniques, including mixing, recrystallization, and milling. Staff mentoring is included to grow the candidate into this position, which also includes extensive training to safely handle explosives and learn the appropriate work controls necessary for conducting safe operations in the laboratory. $74,700 - $144,400 *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential. Qualifications We Require
