Manager, Hardware Test Engineer

The Manager of Test Engineering leads a team responsible for developing and supporting hardware test processes, equipment, and strategies that ensure product quality and efficient manufacturing. This role partners cross-functionally to deliver reliable, cost-effective test solutions from prototype through production.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of hardware test engineers

• Define and manage test strategies for new and existing hardware products

• Oversee creation and maintenance of test plans, fixtures, equipment, and automation

• Ensure design-for-test (DFT) requirements are implemented in new designs

• Support manufacturing and contract manufacturers with test readiness, yield improvement, and issue resolution

• Ensure adherence to quality, reliability, and regulatory requirements

• Drive continuous improvement of test processes, throughput, and cost

• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and quality teams on product development and production scaling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field

• 7+ years of hardware test engineering experience, including team leadership

• Strong knowledge of electronic hardware testing, instrumentation, and automation

• Experience supporting production tests in manufacturing environments

• Proven problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills

• Experience with high-volume manufacturing and contract manufacturers.

• Familiarity with DFT/DFM principles, boundary-scan, and reliability testing.

• Experience with statistical analysis and test optimization

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, use hands, operate a computer, and have specific vision abilities to include close and distance vision, and ability to adjust focus working with computer and business equipment.
