The Finance Manager is the financial leader for the site, acting as the site CFO and a key member of the site leadership team. This role is critical to scaling and improving profitability of the overhaul business by providing disciplined financial stewardship, rigorous performance management, and proactive decision support across operations, commercial, supply chain, and engineering.
The Finance Manager leads all site finance activities including cost accounting, inventory, month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow planning, and internal controls, while delivering timely, accurate, and insightful reporting to corporate. The successful candidate will build strong relationships across functions, translate operational performance into financial outcomes, and drive actions that improve EBITDA, cash flow, and working capital.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Site Financial Leadership / Business Partnering
- Serve as the site CFO and strategic partner to the Site GM and leadership team to deliver targets and enable growth.
- Translate site strategy into financial plans and execution rhythms (weekly/monthly operating cadence, forecast accuracy, action tracking).
- Provide financial leadership for key business decisions: pricing/margin, capacity, make/buy, investments, productivity, and customer/program opportunities.
- Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement in financial and operational performance.
Accounting, Controls, and Compliance
- Lead all site accounting and finance activities including cost accounting, AP/AR support, capital accounting, inventory accounting, audit support, tax support, and risk management.
- Implement, document, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting processes to ensure financial integrity and compliance.
- Partner with corporate/shared services to ensure proper adherence to policies, controls, and government reporting requirements.
Month-End Close & Balance Sheet Ownership
- Lead the site month-end close process, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- Own the balance sheet reconciliation process, including inventory, accruals, fixed assets, reserves, and other key accounts.
- Ensure accurate cut-off, reliable reserves, and robust documentation to support audits and reviews.
Planning, Forecasting & Performance Reporting
- Lead site annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly estimates, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with corporate expectations.
- Develop and maintain driver-based forecasting models for revenue, margin, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, inventory, and working capital.
- Provide weekly/monthly business reporting and variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast/prior) with clear "what/why/how much/what next" insights.
- Identify risks and opportunities early; recommend and track mitigation plans to closure.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Own the site 13-week cash flow outlook and drive actions that improve cash conversion.
- Partner cross-functionally to optimize inventory turns, AR collection, AP alignment, and capex prioritization.
- Provide leadership on working capital levers tied to overhaul operations (WIP management, cycle time/TAT impacts, scrap/rework, and billing triggers).
Capex & Investment Governance
- Support preparation and approval of capex requests, including business case development (ROI, payback, NPV where required).
- Track capex spend vs. plan and ensure proper accounting and reporting.
Operational & Commercial Analytics (Overhaul-Focused)
- Provide analysis that connects operational drivers to financial outcomes, such as:
- throughput, labor utilization, productivity, overtime, and absorption
- scrap/rework/warranty impacts
- mix, yield, cycle time/TAT, and cost-to-serve
- pricing, margin waterfall, and program/customer profitability
- Support commercial decisions including milestone-based performance, contract profitability, and revenue/cost recognition considerations where applicable.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop the site finance team: set priorities, coach performance, drive training, and build bench strength.
- Improve standard work, reporting routines, and analytical capability across the team.
- Hire, retain, and develop talent to support a growing and evolving overhaul business.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred). * 10+ years of progressive finance experience; 3+ years in a manufacturing environment. * Strong accounting, forecasting, and analytical expertise. * Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred). * Ability to work independently and influence across functions.
Preferred Qualifications
* CPA or CMA preferred. * Experience with milestone revenue recognition. * Power BI, Hyperion, HFM, or Hyperion Planning experience preferred. * Aerospace / MRO / overhaul experience a plus.
The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
