Location: Independence, MO

Salary: $66,000 - $78,000
Schedule: 4x10's TU-F 6:00AM-4:30PM

Focus: Responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting various types of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, precision, and attention to detail.

Millwright Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform all duties to effectively manage the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in a factory setting.
  • Dismantling and (re)assembly of production machinery to include inspections, installations, adjustments, repairs, and replacement of defective parts.
  • Strict adherence to safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks.
  • Lead preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn-out pieces, and lubricating mechanical parts.
Millwright Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent: Vocational or technical training is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years recent related experience.
  • Ability to read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and trade type tools to preform repairs and maintenance on equipment including predictive/preventative maintenance.
  • Proficient knowledge of mig and stick welding to maintain and or repair manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong fabrication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain a government driver's license.

Location-Specific Requirements:

  • Must possess a Valid US driver's license.
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
