Position Description

The candidate will support a team of Subcontract Administrators (SA) in the acquisition of commercial goods and services for Laboratory research programs. Duties and responsibilities span from pre-contract award steps through post award contract administration. The Procurement Assistant will award small dollar POs (micro purchases), process change orders and compile all necessary documentation to do such. The Procurement Assistant will be responsible for resolving late or incomplete contract delivery issues and work with Finance to resolve invoice disputes



The Procurement Assistant will also maintain and monitor related contract compliance requirements/documents, including cyber certificates, insurance certificates, vendor master data, support the Contract Insight post award management tool, and execute Purchasing Card expense reconciliations as well as perform any other job-related procurement or administrative duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED. AS/BS in Business Administration preferred; or a minimum of 4 years of direct/related experience in procurement.



Must have some combination of experience in the following:




  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and be able to perform tasks with minimal supervision. Work effectively as an integral part of a contracting team
  • Knowledge of SAP, or equivalent, is preferred. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential
  • Ability to work effectively across groups, functions and departments
  • Individual must demonstrate effective judgment, excellent organization skills, and meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. The ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple concurrent tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Basic knowledge of commercial terms and/or software licensing agreements is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of federal contracting processes, policies, and procedures is preferred


Hiring Range:$27.00-$32.90 per hour
