POSITION SUMMARY: The Supervisor Receiving/Supermarket is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Parts Supermarket, including receiving, putaway, material flow, and inventory control. This position ensures timely and accurate delivery of materials to production and supports the shipment of finished goods to customers.

The role provides direct supervision of supermarket associates, receiving and putaway personnel, route runners, and material handlers within production cells. The Supervisor is accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and REPONSIBLITLITIES

Receiving and Putaway

  • Supervise all receiving and putaway activities to ensure timely processing of inbound materials.
  • Ensure accurate system transactions and proper storage of materials.
  • Monitor dock-to-stock performance and maintain inventory accuracy.

Material Flow and Supermarket Operations

  • Oversee supermarket operations including picking, replenishment, and inventory management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to production lines.
  • Maintain organization and control of warehouse locations and inventory.

Production Support

  • Supervise route runners responsible for delivering materials to production lines.
  • Oversee material handlers assigned to production cells, ensuring proper material availability and flow.
  • Coordinate with Production to prevent line disruptions due to material shortages.

Shipping Support

  • Assist with the coordination and shipment of finished goods to customers.
  • Support shipping operations as needed to meet delivery commitments.

Safety and Compliance

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, including PPE, Lockout/Tagout, and OSHA requirements.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain workplace organization through 5S principles.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Workforce Management

  • Schedule and assign work to meet operational requirements.
  • Manage attendance, overtime, and staffing levels.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and qualified for assigned tasks.

Communication and Leadership

  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and cross-functional departments.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and performance feedback to employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address employee concerns.

Policy Administration

  • Enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Administer disciplinary actions in accordance with company guidelines.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises supermarket associates, receiving and putaway personnel, route runners, and material handlers within production cells. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and administering corrective action.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, material flow, and inventory control
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment
  • Regular standing, walking, and occasional lifting
  • May require extended hours based on business needs

Travel Requirements

  • Minimal travel as required
