JOB TYPEClassification: Non Exempt Supervises Positions: JOB SUMMARYThe Sonographer Lead functions as a role model, mentor, and coach for all Sonographers. Helps coordinate work shift activities within the department. Assists in orientation, continuous quality improvement, cost containment and maintenance of standards of care. Provides input for performance evaluation. Ensure a clean and safe work area. Provides skilled vascular sonography services consistent with licensure and certifications. QUALIFICATIONSEducation: 2 Year/Associate's Degree required. Graduation from an accredited program for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or ARDMS registrant. Must meet the education requirement for diagnostic medical ultrasound certification with either ARDMS or ARRT. Experience: 2 years of experience required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure: ARDMS certified, RVT preferred. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communications. Ability to work in a stressful environment. Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly. Ability to perform diagnostic procedures and to meet the specific needs of various patient age groups: neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. PHYSICAL DEMANDSPhysical Demand Code: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.
