Overview

The Equity Research Department at Deutsche Bank is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Equity Research Associate to join our US Building Products team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a Senior Analyst, providing in-depth research coverage for a dynamic and growing sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mind, a keen attention to detail, and a passion for financial markets. You will be an integral part of a bulge bracket sell-side US Equity Research team, contributing directly to client-facing research and strategic insights. We are looking for an individual with prior experience in financial analysis, ideally within a sell-side, buy-side, investment banking, private equity, accounting, or direct sector role.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models and valuation analyses for public companies in the US Building Products sector.
  • Conduct thorough primary and secondary research, including industry trend analysis, competitive landscape assessments, and company-specific deep dives.
  • Translate complex financial data and quantitative conclusions into clear, concise, and impactful written reports, presentations, and client communications.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Analyst on daily research tasks, ad-hoc projects, and the development of new investment ideas.
  • Analyze and synthesize large datasets quickly to identify key drivers and trends within the Building Products industry.
  • Engage with management teams, industry experts, and investors to gather insights and validate research hypotheses.

Skills You'll Need

  • Demonstrated experience in financial modeling and valuation techniques, specifically for industrial companies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and reliable work.
  • Proven ability to analyze and synthesize complex data quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong written communication skills for authoring research reports and other client materials.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, capable of clearly articulating research findings.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and AI skills

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Prior experience in sell-side equity research, buy-side, investment banking, private equity, accounting, or the Building Products sector.
  • Proficiency in financial databases and analytical tools such as Bloomberg.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and inquisitive mindset.

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $135,000 - $175,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
