MaineHealth Cancer CareisseekingaHematologistto join the DivisionofHematology and MedicalOncology, based at the MaineHealth Cancer Center and Maine Medical Center in Portland.The successful candidate will work closely with colleaguesin an established hematology program toevaluate and treat patients with a range ofbenign and malignant hematologicconditionswithopportunityfor sub specialization. This is primarily aclinic basedposition with rotations to cover inpatient consultation and inpatient care of patients with acute hematologic conditions.

Prior experienceinbenign and/or malignant hematologywithinanacademichealth systemis preferred, although strong candidates in theearly stagesof their careersand current fellowswill be considered.MaineHealth is a nationally recognized integrated care system that delivers highly coordinated,state-of-the-art, cancerand hematologycare across a network thatcares forover 8000new cancer patients each year. The cancer and hematology programs have grownsignificantlyover the past three years andexceed80% market share across the state of Maine. The programs are academically affiliated with the Tufts University School of Medicine and include a fellowship training program as well as robust clinical and translational research efforts, with membership in both NCORP and the NCI cooperative groups.

The MaineHealth Cancer Center andMaine Medical Center are based in Portland, Maine;one of the nation's top small port cities. Unspoiledlandscape, beautiful vistas, outdoor activities, and exceptional shopping make this a destination point for many. With a metroarea populationof 230,000, the city is serviced by aninternational airport and Amtrakandis approximately90 minutesfrom Boston. Excellent private and public education is available, and housing is varied and affordable.The region is home to several colleges and universities, including the Maine College of Art, the University of New England, the University ofMaine, andBowdoin,Batesand Colby Colleges.

The annual base salary for this position is $430,000.
