The Department of Astronautical Engineering of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering seeks candidates for part-time faculty teaching positions to teach a graduate course in spacecraft system design (ASTE-520). This required graduate-level course focuses on the fundamentals of space systems and provides the foundation for students with diverse engineering backgrounds to pursue specialized space engineering coursework.

The applicant must have a Ph.D. in science or engineering with a specialization in space-related fields and at least 10 years of experience in the space industry or academia. The applicant's expertise should include familiarity with the main engineering areas of space systems and their applications and operations, as well as demonstrated experience in teaching in these fields. Knowledge of current industry and government practices in space technology is a plus.

Applications must include a CV and a personal statement. This is a part-time appointment, effective Fall 2026. Applications will be considered starting immediately until the position is filled.

The core salary range for this position is $3,778.44 - $3,891.79 per unit. This is a part-time position.
